YCCI-Liberia has launched a community campaign aimed at protecting local ecosystems and restoring damaged natural areas. The effort brings together young volunteers, school groups, and community leaders who share a common interest in safeguarding Liberia’s rich biodiversity.
The campaign focuses on raising awareness about the loss of plant and animal species, the impact of human activity on forests and wetlands, and the importance of protecting natural habitats. Volunteers are visiting communities, leading discussions, and sharing simple steps people can take to conserve wildlife and maintain healthy ecosystems.
Practical field activities form an important part of the initiative. Young people are helping to clean streams, identify areas affected by illegal dumping, and report harmful practices that threaten the environment. They are also working with residents to plant native trees and restore small green spaces.
The campaign is designed to build a long-term culture of environmental responsibility. By involving young people and community members in hands-on work, YCCI is helping to strengthen local ownership of conservation efforts. The initiative will continue to expand into more communities as partners and volunteers join the cause.
