History & Founders
YCCI-Liberia was established in December 2015 after a group of young Liberians took part in COP21 in Paris, where the Paris Agreement was adopted. The experience renewed their commitment to climate action at home and inspired the creation of a youth-driven movement for environmental responsibility.
The initiative was later formalised by two young climate leaders whose dedication shaped its early direction. Their work focused on empowering children and youth through climate education, advocacy, and community mobilisation.
